User does not show up in Manage Access list in SPO library.

Hello There,

I have observed that when we grant direct access to a user on a folder which has unique permission setup in SPO library and if same user is a member of SharePoint group which also has access to the same folder.

The user does not show up in the direct access list. I know it sounds weird but we have a situation as below.

1-      The SPO library has many folders and subfolders with unique permissions.

2-      The impacted user is added in the SPO group as member.

3-      We grant access to the user on one of the folders directly using grant access option. The SPO member group is also given access to the same folder.

4-      Now when we check the Manage Access list for this folder, the user does not show up in the direct access list but he can access the folder.

Is it know behavior? I searched a lot but could not find any MS doc to support this. You might ask why we granting him direct access because we don’t know who has access on which folder as its very unmanaged. Need your help.

    I cannot reproduce the issue and here are my steps for you refer to.

    1.Create a SharePoint and add a user into this group.

    2.Grant user with Edit permission for a folder. through direct access.
