Hello, I have my microsoft account provided by my university and am trying to access the apps such as Outlook, Onedrive and Word, but from my macbook air, it says that my student account can only view documents and does not allow editing on a Mac. Is this correct or an error?

Your uni may provide online access only, other than OneDrive that would be installed on the local device
You camnnot install multiple O365 licence types on the same Device
Access your uni via web access
Many institutions have Microsoft 365 licenses that cover only the online apps. You can check with your institution to find out if this is what they have. If so, to use the desktop programs, you would have to buy Office 2021 (though you might want to wait until Office 2024 is released in a couple of months) or get a personal subscription to Microsoft 365.
