Conversion numbers in text format to number format.

Hello to everybody. I need help to convert numbers under text format toward format numbers in excel. I have a MackBook Pro. I have attempt in several ways without succes. By the other hand, in the warning Icon ! does not appears the option "convert text into number".

Try the following:

  • Select numbers-as-text in a column.
  • Set the number format to General.
  • Press Control+H to activate the Replace dialog.
  • Click in the 'Find what' box.
  • Press Option+Space to enter a non-breaking space.
  • Leave the 'Replace with' box empty.
  • Click 'Replace All', then close the Replace dialog.
  • If the values are now right-aligned. you're probably done.
  • If not, activate the Data tab of the ribbon.
  • In the Data Tools group, click 'Text to Columns'.
  • Select Delimited, then click Finish.

    I have tried after your suggestion without succes. Perhaps I have to follow step by step how to do. In case you have a link I will apreciate your help.

    Have you tried Data tab of the ribbon > Text to Columns?
