Message for Microsoft Support

Hello,
I recently purchased a new HONOR laptop that came with Office Home & Student 2021 included.
In Microsoft Store, I saw a message saying “included with this PC”, and there was a "Get" button. But when I clicked it, an error occurred and the installation failed.

Now, even though my Microsoft account is linked, I can’t activate Office. It doesn’t appear under my subscriptions, and I'm only offered a trial of Microsoft 365.

I’ve attached screenshots showing:

  • Office listed as included with the device
  • My subscriptions page showing no Office license

Could you please help me activate Office Home & Student 2021 on my account or provide a manual product key?

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi ,

The license was recognized but not activated. In this case, I recommend contacting the Office chat support and informing them of the problem because you are making the request. The license is recognized but not activated.

The best way to contact Microsoft using the Home chat, access the link below and write "Office" below there will be a Contact Support option.

Enter your details to open the chat and a Microsoft agent will come to assist you.

If possible, provide feedback if you managed to resolve it.

    Hi ,

So it's a version problem. Do the following: completely uninstall the version using the troubleshoot procedure below.

Use the Troubleshooting procedure to uninstall Office completely. It will ask if you have consent to run the Office troubleshooter uninstall. You can click yes and wait.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/unin...

Access Microsoft Store > Library > Get Update, wait for the process to finish and restart your PC.

Open the command prompt (admin) and run the commands: sfc /scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth, wait for the process to finish and restart the computer.

Try installing Office from the Microsoft Store again.

    Hi Ivan,

    Thanks for your help.

I installed Office successfully, but when I open Word, it says my Microsoft account doesn’t have an Office license yet, and it asks for a product key. I clicked "Get" in Microsoft Store again, but it still redirects me to Word and nothing changes.

Could you please check if the license was properly linked to my device or help me activate it?

    Best regards.

    Hi ,

I am Ivan, I will help you with this.

First uninstall the 365 version, restart the PC, install the offline version and open Office. If it does not identify the license, access the Microsoft Store and select Obtain.
