When I try to remove the background from a picture in PPT version 16.95.4 on a Mac w/ a 365 enterprise license. It does the usual automatic suggestion of what to remove, but the tool bar along the top changes into "Slide Show", and even when I click format picture again, the option to mark what you want to keep and what you to remove is no longer available. Is this a known issue? Is it related to the update?

I can't reproduce that effect. in 16.95.4. I see the Ribbon collapse to the choices of
Background Removal Slide Show View Picture Formatbut Background Removal remains the active tab.
Try creating a new user account in System Settings>Users & Groups. Then sign into that account and see if the problem persists.
