Cannot log in Outlook on Window 11 anymore Error Massages

I were using Outlook (classic version) on Window 11. Mail was in Outbox pending. I terminated it and tried to reopen it on Desktop again. Can’t open.

Error Msg 1: “Outlook cannot log on….Microsoft Exchange information service in your profile is missing … Modify your profile to ensure….

Msg 2: “System resources are critically low. Close some windows”

Msg 3: "Cannot start Outlook…The set folders cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened".

Open my Outlook on outlook.live.com. Works well. Please help. How I can use Outlook on my desktop again. Already tried update Microsoft 365, Repair … Thanks

Hi,

Yes, delete the old Outlook profile so it will delete the corrupted Outlook profile then create a new one then setup it as "always use this profile"
All your emails from the website should reflect the same on the new Outlook profile, no emails will be skipped. Additionally, since you are on Exchange configuration, it will sync everything from your webmail such as email, contacts, calendar, task and etc.

Great! Worked. Thank you. When I created new profile and signed in my email address again, it asked me how much past emails do I want to download locally to my laptop. I selected 3 years because I didn't want to go through a long process for my first try. Now, I want to download the rest of the emails from my server to my laptop, i.e. amend @outlook.com.ost on my laptop AppData folder. Please advise.

Hi,

For the error message: Cannot start Outlook…The set folders cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened. This can be resolved by creating a new Outlook profile, this is due to Outlook profile being corrupted and create a new profile will help resolve the issue.

Diana, many thanks for the quick answer. It is helpful because I need to use my Mail asap. In order for me not to mess it up again, should I do the following. Please advise.

under Control Panel / User Account/ Mail Set Up Outlook / Profile: I will create a new profile using the Mail address I have bee using. Then select it as “Always use this profile”. Before I do it, should I “Remove” the old/existing profile there (which likely already been corrupted)? Or I can leave it there?

Under Data File section, do I need to do anything? Or the new profile will pick the same file location of the old profile (Users\jw\AppData\Local\Mircosoft\Outlook******@outlook.com.ost”)?

If yes, when my laptop starts replicating old/existing mails from the server, will it check and skip those mails that are already stored in that file location? Or it just overwrites the existing files there?
