Do I need to uninstall my old MS Office to use a new version?

I HAVE AN OLD VERSION OF MS OFFICE AND USE EXCEL VERY FREQUENTLY.

I BOUGHT A NEW LICENSE (STILL IN A BOX) THAT SAYS OFFICE HOME 1 PC/MAC 2024.

WHAT SHOULD I DO THEN.

Yes, that is correct you need to first uninstall the old version of Office, Microsoft indicate you should only have one version of Office installed at a time on a PC, otherwise, the two versions of Office will conflict with each other, and if you double click an office file, the files would still automatically open in the old version of Office.
