Brand new phone (android), trying to set up the connection between phone and laptop. It worked for a short while on the home wifi, but not on other wifi. I have tried disconnecting my phone from my pc in the phone app, and I cannot find the setting on the app to reconnect. Scanning the QR code registers as invalid the first time, and just does not scan when I try again.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

In this situation, try resetting the Phone Link app on your device and see if it helps.

  1. Search for Phone Link in the search bar on the taskbar, right-click the result, and select App settings.
  2. Scroll down and select "Reset".
  3. Open the Phone Link app on your device and add your new Android Phone by scanning the QR code option.

If that did not work, uninstall and reinstall the Phone Link app.

To uninstall, run the command in the PowerShell (Admin) Window.

Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.YourPhone -AllUsers | Remove-AppxPackage

Restart your computer and install the Phone Link app from the Microsoft Store.

Add your device to your Phone Link app and see if it works.
