Thanks for your question. To use Word and Excel on your Samsung tablet, you need a Microsoft 365 subscription. Do you already have Microsoft 365 Family or Personal active on your account?

Here’s the simple way to set it up:

  • On your Samsung tablet, download Word and Excel from the Google Play Store or Galaxy Store.
  • Open the apps and sign in with the same Microsoft account that has the Microsoft 365 subscription.
  • If you are on Microsoft 365 Family, make sure the subscription is shared with your account through your Microsoft family group.

Android tablets do not appear in the Devices page of your Microsoft account, but signing in with your subscription account gives you full access to Word and Excel.

Regards, Arlene D.

You'll need a Microsoft 365 subscription to install the Office apps on an Android device. Note that the mobile versions will be a lot less capable than the counterparts you can have on a computer (PC or Mac). For an overview, have a look at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/what-you-can-do-in-the-microsoft-365-apps-on-mobile-devices-with-a-microsoft-365-subscription-9ef8b63a-05fd-4f9c-bac5-29da046833ea .
