How do I remove an account without deleting it on other devices?

So I got this laptop from my mom, but it still has her account on it as Admin. She says I can take the account off, but I'm scared of deleting all of her stuff on there. She has her own PC with that account signed into there with all her stuff. I just want to get her stuff of my laptop (because it takes up a TON of space), but not actually delete her account or anything on it, otherwise I'll be in massive trouble. Is there anyway to set my account as admin and take her account off this laptop without deleting everything of hers?

Sorry if this is confusing, it's 1am and I'm fed up with the no storage space on my laptop because of all her pictures :,)

To make that device your own and remove your mother's account without affecting her data on other device(s), the best option is to create a new user account on that laptop, then restart the laptop, log into the new account and delete the account associated to your mother's Microsoft account.

The method to do that depends on the version of Windows installed on the laptop, is that Windows 10 or 11?
