My Laptop build in microphone does not work, since I installed WIN 11

The speakers work 100%

I went iunto settings and saw the microphone was deactivated, I then activated it but it is still not working with any app I try it with. Can it be a setting for instance within the voice to typing or simular that is still keeping the microphone occupied?

Hi! This usually isn’t voice-typing hogging the mic. In Windows 11 the built-in mic will work with multiple apps unless a driver is set to exclusive control or the input/permissions are wrong. Try this short path first, then the deeper fix if needed.

  1. Many laptops have a mic-mute key or a tiny LED near the mic. Toggle it once.
  2. Settings > System > Sound > Input. Choose your Internal Microphone. Speak, do you see the input meter move? If not, click it and turn Input volume up.
  3. Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone. Turn Microphone access ON, Let apps access your microphone ON, and scroll down to enable the apps you’re testing. Also enable Let desktop apps access your microphone.
  4. Open Sound Recorder (type recorder in Start), hit record, talk, stop, play back.

When I go to the settings and microphone the system does not give me any ajustable form for the sound. Can it be the soundcard or other setting? At one stage when I get to the microphone I get a message saying the microphone is in use by another app, but it does not say which app. Even if I deactivate the microphone and reactivate it later it still does not respond. How can I find out which app is dominating it?
