How do I change my email to one associated with an old account?

I have a new MS Windows 11, and I had to use old work email as a login because my current personal email is associated with an old MS account that I can't access. I want to cancel the old affiliation so that I can use my current email for my new windows 11.

Old account is probably from a dead desktop, is currently locked due to multiple login attempts, and I no longer have whatever password or recovery information that was used. None of the online help tools have worked for me.

Hi,

First, go to https://account.live.com/acsr . This is where you'll find the account recovery request form. Start by putting in your personal email, that’s the one you're trying to recover. Then, make sure to use a different email that you can access as your contact email. Share as much information as you can. Even if your memory's a bit fuzzy, that’s okay. Just throw in some estimated dates or any services you’ve used, like OneDrive, Skype, or Xbox. Microsoft relies on an automated system, so even if you’re not sure about something, those partial details might just make a difference.
