I have been trying to uninstall this update but have run into this install error - 0x80071a2d multiple times.

I have tried to the steps below as I researched ways to fix this issue.

net stop wuauserv

net stop cryptSvc

net stop bits

net stop msiserver

Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old

net start wuauserv

net start cryptSvc

net start bits

net start msiserver

It doesn't work. I tried the option in Recovery to Fix problems using Windows Update and it still doesn't work. I'm not sure what else I can do to fix this.

This is my system information if it helps.

Also I had Windows 11 for quite a while now (exact duration unknown), I only couldn't update Windows 11 ever since I changed my CPU from a Intel 5-9600k to AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

I appreciate any and all help.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

May I know if you are currently part of the Windows Insider Program?

The KB5065789 update you mentioned is a preview update that was released through the Release Preview Channel, which is typically available only to Windows Insider members.

If you are in a release preview channel, go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsinsider/ and download the latest ISO file available for your channel.

For e.g., Windows Release Preview Channel -latest build in Windows 11 and download the 25H2 ISO file.

Once downloaded, Mount the ISO file and run the Setup.exe to begin the installation.

Make sure you back up your files before proceeding with the upgrade process.

Let me know if you still need more help.
