My Windows search bar keeps a) disappearing, or b) not allowing me to type in it. How do I fix or troubleshoot?

My search bar for Windows (I'm a vendor on AVD) keeps disappearing and/or not allowing me to click in it and type when it is there. I can't open new programs that aren't already on my task bar.

I used Copilot in my browser to find ways to troubleshoot. Many of them that I tried were blocked by my administrator.

I also disconnected and reconnected.. It did nothing.

How do I fix it?

Likely Causes: While the exact trigger cannot be confirmed after the fact, such behavior can occur for several common reasons:

Transient profile or session glitch – Temporary issues with the user profile or explorer.exe process that correct themselves after the next sign-in or session refresh.

Pending Windows updates or background maintenance – Updates or scheduled maintenance can briefly affect shell components like the Start menu and search.
