Hello,

I recently bought an ASUS TUF F16 laptop. The seller installed and set up Windows for me before I received it.

When I tried to sign in with my Microsoft account on the laptop, it didn’t work. It keeps loading and eventually gives me an error.

I live in Iran, but to make sure the issue isn’t related to sanctions or website restrictions, I tested logging into my Microsoft account using the same laptop without a VPN, and it worked fine through the browser.

So the problem seems to be only with signing in on Windows. I couldn’t find any solution online, and I really hope I can find an answer here.

Hi, thank you for getting back to us.

Option1.

May I please know if you have set a password for your local admin account?
Go to Start > Settings > Sign in options > Password. (Create or change the password).

Then, switch your account to a Microsoft account.

2.

Restart the Microsoft Account sign-in Assistant service.

  1. Click Windows + R key, type services.msc, and click ok.
  2. Locate the Microsoft Account sign-in Assistant service, right-click on it, and select 'Restart'****. Ensure the startup type is set to Automatic and the service status is set to Running.

Check for the latest Windows updates.

Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Check for Updates.

Download and install all the pending updates available for your device.

If you're still encountering the same error, try connecting your PC to a VPN network temporarily to see if you can sign in with your Microsoft account. You can download a free VPN app from the Microsoft Store and connect your PC to a different region. Once you're signed in with your Microsoft account, you can disable or uninstall the VPN app later.

Let me know if you still need more help.
