Windows Scrolling Snaps Back

I'm running into trouble using mouse scrolling in Windows 11. If the mouse strays too far from the narrow scrollbar, then Windows snaps back to the previous position, and I have to try again... and again... and again.

I don't have the coordination to use these scrollbars. Unless there's another setting, in addition to Always Show Scrollbars, to make them more forgiving?

I also don't have the invincible tendons to use wheels without injury.

Now I do have a touchpad, and can scroll with that, and I installed mouse software, and can scroll by holding the middle button down. But have I missed something here?

Hello,

The only built-in option from Microsoft is under Settings > Accessibility > Visual effects where you can turn on Always show scrollbars, but there is no setting to make the scrollbars wider or less sensitive. Since you already use the touchpad and middle button scrolling, those are the supported alternatives.

Have you already tried adjusting the Accessibility settings to see if keeping scrollbars always visible helps a bit with control?
