Hello
My laptop crashed and post the BitLocker Recovery process, the brightness and night light options are not working. I was suggested to uninstall the Display Driver, which in my case is mentioned as 'Microsoft Basic Display Adapter's in the Device Manager under Display Adapters. But I am very unsure as this is a fairly new laptop and I don't want to mess anything up with the graphics card or anything else.
Please help!

If you see Microsoft Basic Display Adapter as your GPU, that means that the drivers weren't properly installed (or are corrupt and Windows can't use them)
Could you go to your laptop manufacturer's support website and then download the drivers for your display?
Once you install them, restart your PC, and then see if you can adjust the brightness.

Thankyou for your response, I was able to resolve it by uninstalling the afore mentioned driver, and the restarting my laptop again. Thanks for the help!

Did not rectify the situation...Had to revert back to windows 11 pro 23H2 and it works fine...
The Microsoft Basic Display Adapter indicates there is currently no graphics drivers installed on your PC,
Go to the support page for your laptop on the manufacturers website, then from there, download and re-install (not update) the version of graphics drivers they provide for your laptop model.
If you have any difficulty locating that support page, click your Start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter, please provide a screenshot of the resulting System Information window.
