Background:

I bought and payed for the 2024 Office Home ($149.99), I already had the Microsoft applications (Excel, Powerpoint, Word etc.), when I signed in it had no problem, however it would say that I am only able to use read since I don't have a Microsoft 265 subscription. I deleted the app and re-downloaded them using the link that the email send me, re signed in and then did the Activation key on Excel and Word but it continued to say the same thing (no Microsoft 365 Subscription found for the email)

Issue:

When trying to activate it says that I don't have a Microsoft 365 subscription after paying for the home Office 2024 which I bought September 2025

Resolution:

How can I sign in and use the app on my Mac?

Thank you so much, I hope this was detailed enough!

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

If you haven't already, I’d suggest is to uninstall any existing Office apps on your Mac to avoid conflict: https://support.microsoft.com/office/uninstall-office-for-mac-eefa1199-5b58-43af-8a3d-b73dc1a8cae3

Then, to reinstall Office Home 2024:

  • Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services
  • Sign in using the same Microsoft account linked to your subscription.
  • Find your Office Home 2024 and click the "Install" button.
  • That will download the installer for the Office apps, just run it and follow the steps.

If anything’s unclear or the "Install" button still doesn’t show, feel free to let me know. I’ll be happy to walk you through it!
