Cannot update drivers for a RAID card using Device Manager

I cannot update drivers for a RAID card using Device Manager even though I navigate to the drivers folder for the device! Windows even says that the latest driver which is dated 5/14/2018 is the best driver although the latest driver version on Broadcom's website for the 9540-8i RAID card is dated 8/8/2025.

Because of the old drivers, I potentially cannot resolve a problem that may be caused by them.

Windows 10 was definitely better generally, I would say. Why can't I update the drivers using Device Manager? It appears Windows 11 is buggy for more than this reason.

    Hello,

    In general, driver updates should be downloaded and installed either through Device Manager (via Windows Update) or directly from the hardware manufacturer’s website.

    Please refer to the following support document for guidance.

    Publish a driver to Windows Update

    It’s possible that your hardware manufacturer hasn’t submitted the latest driver to Windows Update.

    Whether this is actually a bug remains unclear.

    To confirm whether this is a bug, it’s best to reach out to the hardware manufacturer directly.

    So the manufacture may not have submitted it. I found that the problem updating it manually was that the file I needed to select was zipped and it was not apparent. It would be nice if Windows 11 would work more like Windows 10. I was able to update the drivers.
