Build 27971.1. Widgets is missing the setting gear and the Sign in button is not working.
After updating to Build 27971.1, Widgets have a couple of problems.

They are playing with CFR experiments again and they added these 2 bugs on Widgets. 🤷♂️
Mine returned to normal after reboot. I didn't do anything else other than the usual sfc, cleanup and defrag.

Thanks for upvoting. I have the same issue on multiple machines. The SFC and DISM scans run clean.
Here is another screenshot that looks like the one reported by C.K. in a comment on my FBH report, same "You have no pinned widgets." and still cannot Sign in. 😵💫🤷♂️
Similar problem on latest R.P. channel that has the same version of Widgets. They removed the capability to Sign In/Out in latest version of Widgets 525.28301.0.0. The problem is not present in the Public Build that has an older version of Widgets 525.24401.50.0.
No explanation on why they removed the capability of Sign In/Out. Looks like yet another screwup from Microsoft. 😝🤬

The Widgets problem on the last machine that was still failing with Build 27971.1 is now fixed after updating to Build 27975.1. The version of Widgets is still the same as before the update 525.28600.0.0. 🤷♂️
Good that now Widgets are back to normal. 🤞
FG, Mine looks almost the same as yours.

On 10/22/2025, around 4PM Pacific time, the Widgets problem disappeared on 3 more Canary machines, after checking for updates and rebooting.
Could you try to do the same and see what happens on your Canary machine?
Now Widgets on all my Canary machines are back to normal. There is no explanation from Microsoft on what was causing the problem nor what they fixed. 🤷♂️

I think they must have done something on the server side; I did not see any of the hidden features changing from when it was failing and when it started working.
I found yet another machine on Canary that is still failing even after checking for updates and rebooting a few times.
We'll see if that will ever be fixed or not.
Without any explanation from MS, it is quite confusing.
Now I have 4 machines without the problem and a 5th one that still has the bug. Same Build 27971.1 and same Widgets version 525.28600.0.0. Time will tell. 😵💫🤷♂️

I had exactly what you show in the picture. CK and I were discussing the matter. Was going to file a FBH report.
After a secondary reboot, everything came back to normal. My concern was where did my Weather App go. Merely rebooting corrected it.

At the end of the day on 10/17/2025 all my machines on Canary 27971.1 are getting the same widgets problems. 😵💫🤷♂️
