Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hello @Srinivasa Rao Pappala
Welcome to Q&A forum!
In this situation, you couldn't sign in to Windows with those credentials because:
- Microsoft 365 Business credentials are work accounts (Microsoft Entra Admin Center), not personal Microsoft accounts.
- Windows sign-in expects either:
- A personal Microsoft account (like Outlook.com), or
- A work account that is joined to Azure AD on the device.
Right now, your device is not joined to the organization’s Azure AD, so Windows doesn’t recognize the work account for login. That’s why the error says “Microsoft account doesn’t exist.”
To fix this, the device must be connected to the organization, I will provide you guidance steps to try that:
First, you can sign in with a personal Microsoft account first when setting up the desktop. Windows allows you to use a personal account (like Outlook.com, Hotmail, or Live) for the initial setup and login.
However, keep in mind:
Personal account login does not connect the device to your organization. It only gives you access to personal Microsoft services (OneDrive personal, Microsoft Store, etc.).
- Sign in with your personal account during initial setup.
- After Windows is ready, go to Settings -> Accounts -> Access work or school -> Connect and add your work account.

3.Sign in with work credentials.
4.Confirm Join
After successful join, the device will appear under Microsoft Entra Admin Center -> Devices in the admin portal.
**
5.Restart and Sign In
- Restart the device.
- On the Windows login screen, select "Sign in with work account"
