I cannot access my bit locker recovery key to access windows 11 lenovo ideapad. Have had Microsoft outlook account for decades. Forgot to change security info when I was changed jobs a few months ago and the email and phone number i used were from former employer and are no longer active. I have requested security info replacement. Is there any workaround to access bit locker recovery key and/or bypass this before the 30 day waiting period for new security info is over? And any idea why waiting period is so long?

I know this is frustrating. Have you checked if your BitLocker recovery key was ever saved somewhere else, like on a USB drive, printed copy, or another Microsoft account?

BitLocker recovery keys are tied to your Microsoft account for security, and Microsoft does not offer a way to skip or shorten the 30-day waiting period once you request to replace your security info. The wait time protects your account from unauthorized access. You’ll need to wait for the update to finish, then sign in to your Microsoft account and get the key from the BitLocker recovery page.
