Capturing audio, video, and screen content from Teams meetings for later review or sharing
Hi @Christine Salo,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Based on my research regarding Microsoft Teams, by design, there is currently no way to permanently delete meeting chat history. Even if you're the meeting organizer, you cannot delete or leave the meeting chat. Other participants may choose to leave the chat or remove it from their personal view, but the chat itself remains stored in Teams and accessible to other participants. This is the default behavior of the product.
Please note that as a forum moderator, so my role is to research and provide information to help clarify your question. I do not have control over product settings, limitations, or design decisions. Thank you for your understanding.
Regarding your question about the video taken in a team meeting, could you kindly clarify what you're referring to:
- Are you talking about a meeting recording that was automatically saved to OneDrive or SharePoint after the meeting ended?
- Or do you mean a screen recording or video file that someone manually shared in the meeting chat?
If you have any updates, please feel free to leave a comment under this post. Looking forward to your reply so I can assist you further.
