I was told by simply paying for my subscription to Personal 365 my older version would be re-activated. Reason being I can not download the new version because my Mac is still sunning Monterrey OS 12.7.6. How can I unlock my desktop older version of Office?

Your subscription allows you to activate an older version that will run on your Mac. Here's my article on how to download, install and activate Office: Most Recent Office You Can Run - Best Practices

After installing 16.88, run Help>Check for Updates one time to update to the final 16.88.1 version for Outlook and PowerPoint. You don't need the AutoUpdate option to automatically update Office, as there will not be any further updates for your version.

Thanks Folks! The 16.88 appears to be working.
