I bought & installed Office 2021 for Mac 3-4 years ago and yesterday it wrongly thought I had just downloaded 365 and has blocked me from using Office

I bought & installed Office 2021 a few years ago and have used it without problems since then on my MacBook Pro. Last night, I opened an Excel file, made some changes and, when I tried to save it, I got a message which stated "Action required. We've detected a one-time purchase licence. This licence can only be used with Microsoft365 apps downloaded directly from Microsoft365.com". I was unable to save any changes and it appears I am also prevented from printing. I have checked and Word has the same issues. Also, in the top left hand corner, when I click on "Excel", there is an option "Activate Microsoft365"

Three days ago, I downloaded a new version of Teams - a product I had used only once or twice previously - and wonder if that has caused this snafu. Apart from that, I have not downloaded anything recently which could have caused my system to think that I might be interested in using 365.

How do I get all this "365" stuff out of my laptop and get Office 2021 working as it did until yesterday

This may be caused by Office auto-updates installing the wrong version of Office on your Mac.

Use the steps provided on this link to uninstall Office from your Mac:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/uninstall-office-for-mac-eefa1199-5b58-43af-8a3d-b73dc1a8cae3

Then restart your Mac and go to your Microsoft account online to re-install Office Office 2021 from there.
