Hi

Regarding Learn.microsoft.com

I have a certification within PowerBI and have gotten mail about renewal.

I have recieved the mail on my private mail removePII@gmail.com - But learn does not recognize this as a user?

I have changed work since last time, but don't see why my gmail (which has recieved the notice) should be absolute.

Best regards

Martin

Hello @Martin Rasmussen,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A Forum.

The Microsoft Learn certification platform uses two different email fields:

  • Certification Profile (Login Account): Could you confirm if you used your old company account to log in when you took the exam? This is the account you used when you first registered for your Power BI exam. Since you mentioned that you have changed jobs, it’s very likely that your certification is linked to your previous work account.
  • Contact Email: If you set this to your personal Gmail address, that explains why Microsoft correctly sends renewal notifications to that email. However, this Gmail address is not the login account for your certification profile unless it was linked as a Microsoft Account.

The challenge now is that your valuable Power BI certification is still associated with your old work account, which you no longer have access to. The only way to fix this is to contact the Microsoft Certification Support team and request a profile migration or account merge. They are the only team authorized to move your certifications from your old work account to your personal Microsoft account.

You can follow the instruction here: Credentials support | Microsoft Learn

When you contact them, explain that you need to merge your old work account with your personal account because your certification is currently tied to the old account. They will guide you through the process and ensure your certifications remain accessible.

I hope this information helps you resolve the issue quickly. Please let me know if you need any assistance with the support request or have further questions.

Best regards,
