Locked out of my Outlook account and recovery options not working

Hi, I’m completely locked out of my Outlook account

I’ve already tried every recovery method available:

The password reset link

Phone and email verification (both are rate-limited)

The account recovery form (reached the daily limit)

My password is no longer being recognised and I can’t use any verification option because the system keeps saying I’ve tried too many times. I’ve also contacted @MicrosoftHelps on X, but my case hasn’t been resolved.

I urgently need help regaining access as I have important emails due. Could a moderator please escalate this to the Microsoft Account Recovery or Identity team? I can provide verification details if needed.

Hi Charlie,

Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, Microsoft Q&A is public forum, and we can only provide information. It is beyond our capability to assist directly or escalate with the account or login-related issues.

Microsoft temporarily locks accounts after too many failed sign-in attempts or suspicious activity to keep your data safe. If you’ve hit the limit for password resets or recovery forms, the best option is to wait for the lockout period, usually about 24 hours before trying again. Avoid further attempts during this time, as they can restart the cooldown. When you retry, use the Account Recovery Form from a familiar device and location, and provide accurate details. If you’ve reached the daily submission limit, you’ll need to wait until the next day to resubmit.

If your request to get your Microsoft account back didn't work, click this link for details: https://support.microsoft.com/office/dc56c3e3-dff0-4ed5-8edb-60290eea6b53

Note: Account recovery is fully automated for security reasons, and moderators or support agents cannot manually unlock accounts.
