A free app and service that helps families create healthy digital habits and stay connected. It’s designed to support both online safety and real-world awareness by offering tools for screen time management, content filtering, and location sharing
Hi David,
Microsoft applies a cool-down period when family group changes occur or when multiple invitations are sent in a short time. This is a security measure to prevent misuse of sharing features and to maintain account integrity. Unfortunately, the system treats any group reset or repeated invites as a trigger for this 30-day limit, even if you’re well within your allowed number of seats.
No official override exists for the 30-day restriction. It’s enforced automatically and cannot be bypassed through settings or support.
What you can do in the meantime:
Ensure the current family group is set up correctly so you can send invites as soon as the waiting period ends.
Use Microsoft 365 apps online to share files temporarily with the intended family member via OneDrive or Office Online. This doesn’t require adding them to the family group.
If the person needs full subscription benefits immediately, consider a short-term alternative like a monthly Microsoft 365 Personal plan for them until the restriction lifts.
Happy to help!
