If your mail merge document in Word does not send emails at the last step without any warning or message, it could be due to a few reasons:

  1. Email Format: Ensure that your email format is set to HTML, as mail merge requires this format to send emails properly.
  2. Permissions: Check if you have the necessary permissions to send emails through the mail merge process. If you're using Dynamics 365 for Outlook, make sure you have the appropriate role assigned.
  3. Mail Merge Process: Confirm that you have completed all the steps in the mail merge process correctly. Sometimes, missing a step can prevent the emails from being sent.
  4. Single Mail Merge Limitation: Remember that only one mail merge can run at a time in Dynamics 365 for Outlook. If another mail merge is in progress, it may prevent the current one from sending.
  5. Software Issues: There might be issues with your Office Word installation or settings. Consider restarting Word or checking for updates.

If you continue to experience issues, you may want to consult the Office Word Help documentation for more detailed troubleshooting steps.

Make sure you are using a MAPI-compliant mail client such as Classic Outlook. You cannot merge emails to New Outlook.

After a lot of searching, none of which sorted out my problem, it occurred to me that Outlook Classic now only runs in administrator mode, so did this mean I need to run Word in administrator mode? I tried it and the email merge worked perfectly.
