Hey, Friday night i got the software update for version 26200.7171, when rebooting after install I had the following issues

  • Got welcomed to my session with some Asus driver could not be loaded message
  • Internet takes forever to connect (sometimes i have to restart the ethernet adapter to have it work)
  • Can't type in the start menu anymore (instead it selects an app in the list of apps in the start menu that starts with the same letter that i just typed (i.e if i type s it selects "solitaire")
  • If i click on the start menu search bar it closes the start menu
  • I get the windows not activated watermark (I had it activated for like 1000 years now I don't even remember when I got the license)
  • Overall my computer became slow, i.e launching games takes longer
  • After a while of it being turned on, the background becomes dark-grey (intead of the desktop, no icons are shown) and the explorer process stops (no more bar at the bottom, no more start menu), trying to restart it with win+R "explorer.exe" doesn't work
  • The task manager also crashes when i try to use it
  • The windows stored seemed bug to me so i used Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore to see the status and it says "Status : Modified, DeploymentInProgress, Servicing, NeedsRemediation"

I uninstalled the update and the security update but it's still the same

If uninstalling that November update did not resolve the problems, open the Settings App, go to System - recovery.

Click the 'Reinstall Now' button in the 'Fix problems with Windows Updates' section and wait for that process to complete, this process will not affect your files, settings or installed apps.
