    Actually, by default the TOC includes paragraphs in one of Word's built-in heading styles 1, 2, and 3 AND all other paragraphs that have an outline level of 1, 2, or 3. But you can customize the TOC to include other styles and outline levels. See http://wordfaqs.ssbarnhill.com/TOCTips.htm.

    Hello, thanks for reaching out.

    In Word, the Table of Contents only includes text formatted with heading styles (Heading 1, 2, or 3). Apply a heading style to any text you want listed, then go to References, click Table of Contents, and choose an automatic style.

    If you want the text to look normal, modify the heading style to match your regular font. Right-click the Table of Contents and select Update Field to refresh it.
