I've updated my card details. How can I stop Microsoft asking me to do it again every time I open an Office document

I have an annual MS Office 365 account. The card I use to pay for it expired during the year, so when it came time to renew MS asked for new card details, which I gave them, and my annual subscription was successfully paid. However, ever since, whenever I open an Office 365 programme, it asks me to update again. How can I stop it doing it?

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Can you sign in to your Microsoft account at the Services & Subscriptions page (https://account.microsoft.com/services) and check if your Office 365 subscription is active?

If the license appears to be active, try repairing the Office applications on your Windows PC.

  1. Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
  2. Locate Microsoft Office 365 in the list, click the three ellipses icon, and select Modify.
  3. Choose Online Repair to fix the Office apps.
  4. Once finished, open Microsoft Word and start working.

If you're experiencing repeated prompts to update your card details in Office 365 after you've already updated them, it may be due to a few reasons:

    1. Session Issues: Sometimes, the application may not recognize that the card details have been successfully updated. Try signing out of your Office applications and then signing back in to refresh the session.
    2. Billing Profile: Ensure that your billing profile is correctly set up in the Microsoft 365 admin center. You can check your billing account and ensure that the new card details are reflected there.
    3. Recurring Billing: If recurring billing is turned on, make sure that it is properly configured. You can manage this setting in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

If the issue persists, consider contacting Microsoft support for further assistance. They can help troubleshoot the issue specific to your account.
