Recently got a new phone. Realized Microsoft accounts did not transfer over to the new phone. Old phone is already gone. When trying to use Authenticator, I cannot sign in of course without a code. It sends the code right back to the app, but I am unable to sign into Authenticator fully to then verify or type in the code. Please help.

If this is in an organization context (work or education), the local IT support should be able to assist you.

If you no longer have access to your old phone and cannot receive the verification code via the Microsoft Authenticator app, you will need to reset your multi-factor authentication (MFA) settings. Here are some steps you can take to regain access:

    1. Use Alternative Verification Methods: If you have set up alternative methods for MFA (like SMS or email), try using those to receive your verification code.
    2. Contact IT Support: If you are part of an organization, reach out to your IT support team. They can help reset your MFA settings or provide alternative ways to verify your identity.
    3. Account Recovery: If you have a personal Microsoft account, you can try the account recovery options available on the Microsoft website. This may involve answering security questions or providing information to verify your identity.
    4. Re-register for MFA: Once you regain access to your account, you may need to re-register for MFA using the new device. Make sure to set up the Microsoft Authenticator app on your new phone and enable phone sign-in for easier access in the future.

Remember, do not attempt to remove or reset anything on your old device as it is no longer available.
