I just installed MS Office Home 2024. I tried to open a Word doc (Word 2010). It will not open. Is it a compatibility issue? Can this be resolved? I have published over 40 books. I need to be able to access my docs. Is there some patch or something that can help? Thank you.

I'm not having any issues here opening Word 2010 file in 2024. Is it only a double-click that that does not open the files? What happens if you try File>Open and select the document? What about if you drag the document icon onto an empty Word window? Or if you right-click on the file and choose Open?
Yes - my Word docs can now open. Thank you. The issue was that the new system had brought over Word docs that were already on my old desktop - and I believe those got corrupted in the process. I deleted all those, and Word can now open all other Word docs. Thank you so much for helping!
This is a brand-new system, brand-new computer, brand-new MS Home Office.
Please help me with compatibility issues so that I can open my existing Word 2010 docs.
