Within the last two days, all of a sudden, in my pictures folder, all of my picture icons have turned to blank icons instead of showing me the picture itself. I don't know what happened, but I would like to go back to having the icon showing the actual picture in the icon. Can anybody help me with this? Any suggestions, advice, or direction? Thank you for any time and help.....ZZZZ-Microsoft Visual

Hi, I am an Independent Advisor, and welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

Let me help you with this issue.

I understand that your picture files are not showing the correct icon inside the Picture folder.

Please follow the steps below.

On the Picture folder, please open the Folder Options by following the steps below.

Select the three horizontal dots located on the right side of the ribbon tabs, then choose Options from the list.

When the Folder Options window appears, make sure Always show icons, never thumbnails is not checked.

After that, click Apply, and then select OK to confirm the changes.User's image

Hello Richard,

Double check using the tutorial below to make sure thumbnail previews is still turned on.

https://www.elevenforum.com/t/enable-or-disable-thumbnail-previews-in-file-explorer-in-windows-11.2272/

If it is turned on, then you can see if clearing and resetting the thumbnail cache using an option in the tutorial below may fix it.

    • Thank you both. I followed both answers, but Ferdinand Nanalig's suggestion was the one that was most simple for me to use. It worked. Thank you again. I can now see my pictures in the icon thumbnails. It sure is great knowing that you all are out there!!
