Dear Therence Valdez,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

Thank you for sharing the screenshot and details. If the dropdown arrow is visible but the list does not appear when you click it, this usually relates to Data Validation settings or source issues.

Here are the steps you can check and fix:

1. Check Data Validation Settings

Select the cell with the dropdown.

Go to: Data > Data Validation

Ensure:

Allow: List

In-cell dropdown is checked.

The Source range is correct and not empty.

  1. Verify the Source Range
  • If the source refers to a range (e.g., Sheet1$G$2:$G$4):
  • Make sure that range exists and contains values.
  • If using a Named Range, check under: Formulas > Name Manager to confirm the name is valid. User's image
  1. Check for Hidden or Protected Cells
  • Ensure the source cells are not hidden or filtered out.
  • If the worksheet is protected, unprotect it: Review > Unprotect Sheet User's image
  1. Remove Merged Cells
  • Dropdown lists do not work properly in merged cells.
  • If the cell is merged, unmerge it: Home > Merge & Center > Unmerge Cells
  1. Restart Excel or Repair Office
  • If everything looks correct but the issue persists:
  • Close and reopen Excel.
  • If still not working, run Online Repair:
  • Control Panel > Programs > Microsoft 365 > Change > Online Repair User's image

I hope this information helps point you in the right direction. If you run into any issues while trying the steps, or if something still doesn’t feel quite right, please don’t hesitate to reach out again. I’ll do my best to support you however I can.

Looking forward to hearing back from you with any updates or additional details.

Warm regards,

Hi Therence as @Liora D helps you but here are some recomendations from my side, Sometimes the dropdown stops working if the sheet is protected or the data link is broken.

Try these steps to solve your problem:

Click the cell with the dropdown.

Go to Data > Data Validation and check if the list is still there.

Make sure the source range still has values.

If the sheet is protected, unprotect it and try again.

If it still does not show, close Excel and open the file again. This fixes it for many people.

    Hope this helps for you!
