so i've been trying to login to my brother microsoft account but it kept asking me to give it a guardian consent. I've tried giving the account a guardian consent, but it just goes on a loop of asking it again and again. Now i've tried removing the account from microsoft family safety and tried to login again but it just kept asking for a guardian consent. I don't know for sure what the birthdate is set on my brother account but i'm pretty sure that it was under 18. so i want to try to change the birthdate but the main issue is i still cant login to my brother account.

Hi Raysyid,

Thank you for sharing your question. I understand that you wanted to fix the login to your account but keep asking for guardian consent. I am here to help.

Okay, here's how to troubleshoot that weird consent loop

Start by clearing your browser's cache and cookies. Or, try logging in using a private/incognito window or even a totally different browser or device. Old data can mess things up and cause that page to keep reloading.

Then, using an adult Microsoft account (like a parent or guardian's), head to the Microsoft Family Safety website: https://account.microsoft.com/family/home. Double-check that your brother's account is listed under Your family. If it is, try removing it and then adding it back. This can reset the permissions.

After re-adding the account, click on Manage consent or Edit this child’s personal info. You’ll need to prove you're the adult. This might mean signing in again or providing some ID (like a credit card or a photo ID) before you can change your brother's birthday.

After the birthday is corrected and shows he's over 18, the consent thing should go away automatically after he logs out and logs back in.

If you've tried all that – clearing the cache, using incognito mode, verifying yourself as the guardian – and it's still looping, Microsoft might have to reset the Family Safety stuff on their end. Contact Microsoft Support. Go to Account & Profile > Family Safety > Unable to access account, and give them both your email addresses and a description of what's happening.

I hope this helps.

Best Regards,

Noel
