Being forced to install Microsoft 365

I bought Office Home 2024 because I want to own it outright and not pay a subscription.

Now when I launch the Office Setup program it shows the heading "Microsoft 365 and Office". I have not proceeded because I am afraid that if it installs the unwanted Microsoft 365 I will be billed for a subscription.

On the Office installer, you may see Microsoft 365 listed in the installer window, but that is usually just an advertisement, if you continue with the installation, it should install Office Home 20024 correctly, you will not be billed for a subscription if you have not signed up for a subscription to Microsoft 365.

When you purchase Office Home 2024, it is a one-time purchase and does not require a subscription to Microsoft 365. If you are seeing the heading "Microsoft 365 and Office" during the setup, it is likely just a branding aspect of the installation process. You should be able to proceed with the installation of Office Home 2024 without being billed for a subscription, as long as you are using the product key that came with your purchase and not signing up for any Microsoft 365 subscription during the process.

If you want to ensure that you do not accidentally subscribe to Microsoft 365, make sure to decline any offers for a subscription during the installation process. You can also check the product details to confirm that you are installing Office Home 2024 specifically.
