Hi, I recently built my PC and everything works great, but whenever I open a photo with the Windows Photo app it gets distorted. If I open it with another program, the issue doesn’t occur.

I’ve tried everything I could. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, reset my it, updated Windows, but no matter what I do, it doesn’t get fixed.Screenshot 2025-12-15 175111

Hi,

The distortion in the Windows Photos app is caused by GPU rendering or color profile conflicts, not by the image itself. Other apps display the image correctly, which confirms the issue is with Photos using hardware acceleration and color management.

What I suggest is :

Disable hardware acceleration in Photos settings.

Reset or remove custom color profiles in Color Management.

Update or clean-install your graphics drivers.

Turn off HDR temporarily and test.

If the issue persists, use an alternative viewer until Microsoft releases a fix.

I hope this helps!
