Thank you for letting me know.
No, there’s no way to get more details from a child account. Microsoft Family Safety does not show email addresses, and a child cannot message family members to identify which account they belong to. Seeing only your wife’s first name is normal.
This confirms your son is in a different family group than the one you and your wife see. He’s linked to another Microsoft account belonging to your wife (likely an older or unused one).
What to do:
- Have your wife sign in to all her Microsoft accounts at https://family.microsoft.com
- One of them should show your son.
- If none of them do, please contact Microsoft support using the steps below for further assistance.
To contact Microsoft Support via live chat:
- Here is the link: https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact
- Type this keyword and press Enter: Contact Support.
- At the bottom, click "Sign in to contact support" and sign in with your Personal Microsoft account (Not work or school account) you currently have access, or click "Contact Support" if you're already signed in.
- In Product and services, select "Other Products".
- In Category, select "Billing and Account Profile questions".
- Click "Chat with a support agent in your web browser".
If you ever find yourself stuck in a loop, please use the keywords "Contact Support" or "Live Chat" (without the quotes) and click "Contact Support" at the bottom.
I really hope this information is helpful!
Regards,
John J.D.
