I have had a 365 family subscription for nearly two years now. I finally tried to add my wife to the family plan....her email address shows as pending....and she has yet to receive an activation email.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Instead of sending an email invite, you can select Copy link on the Share your benefits screen and share that link with the recipient via SMS or any social media app.

  • Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services
  • Sign in with your Microsoft account that is associated with an Office 365 Family license.
  • Click Start Sharing > Copy Link.
  • Paste the link on the social media app and click send.
  • Ask her to accept the invite.

Just a quick reminder that the invitation link is valid for 48 hours only and will expire if not accepted within that timeframe.

If your wife's email address shows as pending and she has not received the activation email, you can try the following steps:

    1. Check Spam/Junk Folder: Sometimes, activation emails can end up in the spam or junk folder. Ensure that she checks those folders in her email account.
    2. Resend the Invitation: You can try to resend the invitation from your Microsoft 365 account. Go to the Microsoft 365 Family settings and look for the option to resend the invitation.
    3. Use a Different Email Address: If the issue persists, consider using a different email address to add her to the family plan.
    4. Check Account Status: Ensure that your Microsoft 365 Family subscription is active and that there are no issues with your account.
    5. Contact Support: If none of the above steps work, you may need to contact Microsoft Support for further assistance with the activation process.

These steps should help you resolve the issue with the pending activation email for your wife's account.
