Why does Microsoft keep switching me from Outlook Classic to New Outlook when I do not have that option enabled?

I use Classic because Outlook New constantly loses inbox emails by the hundreds. I don't want the OS trying to switch me from Outlook Classic to Outlook New. But it does that every single day. How do I get it to stop switching me?

Please answer in 25 words or less. I won't read past that.

If that key doesn't work, use HideNewOutlookToggle - when the toggle is hidden, Microsoft won't enable new Outlook. (And you can't accidentally hit the slider.)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options\General DWORD: HideNewOutlookToggle Value: 1 https://www.slipstick.com/outlook/classic-outlook-not-new-outlook/

As an FYI, many Outlook keys don't exist until you either change a setting in Options or add the key yourself. Since there is no option in Outlook for these settings, you need to add the key.

Answer accepted, except that the named DWORD does not immediately exist in my Windows 11 installation. I added the DWORD as follows:

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options\General] "NewOutlookAutoMigrationRetryIntervals": dword:00000000

I also added New Outlook MigrationUserSettting DWORD under Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\office\16.0\outlook\preferences

Hopefully one of those will work.

To stop automatic switching, disable the NewOutlookMigrationUserSetting registry key or check your organization's migration policy settings.
