I tried to switch out of S Mode on my end by going to the Setting then the Microsoft Store, then I keep hitting "Get", it shows "try again". It shows "Something happened and we couldn't start the upgrade". What happened? It doesn't even specify. If this problem is not properly resolved, I am going to donate this laptop and buy a MacBook.

Open the start menu and type Windows Update and see if you have any updates pending.

Click on the start menu Type 'WSreset.exe' and hit Enter.

Restart your computer and see if the problem persists.

Open the Settings app and go to System - Recovery.

Click the "Install Now" button under "Fix problems using Windows Update."

When finished, see if the problem persists.

There is another alternative, which is to do a clean installation of Windows:

It sounds like you're experiencing issues while trying to switch out of S Mode on your Windows device. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the problem:

    1. Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your device is connected to the internet, as the switch requires an online connection.
    2. Restart Your Device: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches that may be causing the issue.
    3. Try Again Later: There may be temporary issues with the Microsoft Store. Waiting a little while and trying again might help.
    4. Use Settings: You can also try switching out of S Mode directly through the Settings app. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation, and look for the option to switch out of S Mode.
    5. Update Windows: Make sure your Windows is up to date. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.
    6. Contact Support: If the problem persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance.

If none of these steps work, you may want to consider the option of upgrading your device or exploring alternatives as you mentioned.
