Open Device Manager, and make sure you've audio drivers installed and properly working.

You can visit your device manufacturer's website to download audio drivers for your system model.

Try updating audio drivers to latest version.

Or if you've already updated them, try to roll back previous version to see if that works.

Run Playing Audio troubleshooter from Settings app > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters. Let us know what it reports back.

If you're encountering the "no audio device is installed" error, here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

    1. Check Device Manager: Open Device Manager and look for any audio devices listed under "Sound, video and game controllers." If you see a yellow exclamation mark, there may be a driver issue.
    2. Install or Update Drivers: If the audio device is missing, you may need to install or update the audio drivers. You can do this by:
      • Right-clicking on the audio device in Device Manager and selecting "Update driver."
      • If the device-specific driver is available, you can manually install it by downloading it from the manufacturer's website.
    3. Reinstall Audio Drivers: If updating doesn't work, try uninstalling the audio device from Device Manager and then restarting your computer. Windows should automatically reinstall the driver upon reboot.
    4. Check Windows Updates: Ensure that your Windows is up to date, as updates can include important driver updates.
    5. Run the Audio Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters, and run the audio troubleshooter to detect and fix problems automatically.
    6. Check Physical Connections: Ensure that your audio device is properly connected to your computer and powered on if necessary.

If you've tried these steps and still have issues, consider checking for any hardware problems with the audio device itself.

    1

    Open the Settings App.

Go to System - Troubleshoot - Other Troubleshooters.

Run the Audio Troubleshooter form there to text if that can find and resolve the problem.

    2

If that does not resolve the problem, go to the support page for your PC on the manufacturers website, then from there, download and re-install the version of HD Audio drivers and Graphics drivers they provide.

If you have any difficulty locating that support page, click your Start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter, please provide a screenshot of the resulting System Information window.
