Thank you for the screenshot, there is an OEM licence installed on the motherboard, if you use a bootable USB to re-install the Home version of Windows, skip entering a product key during the installation and the Home version of Windows that will activate automatically from the pre-installed OEM licence.

That error usually indicates there is a problem with the Windows licence and how it was activated.

If there is an OEM Windows Home licence licence stored on the motherboard, you will not need a product key, but you will need to backup your files, create a bootable Windows USB and use that to clean install the Home version of Windows.

Download the free ShowKeyPlus app from the Microsoft Store.

Please provide a screenshot of that app window and please hide your product key in the screenshot.

I used a USB-WiFi adapter and it worked so, there's NO FURTHER CAUSE FOR ALARM.

Thanks again @DaveM121 for your assistance and I've learned a lot more.

    Cheers

To resolve the activation issue you're experiencing with the error code 0x8007232B, it indicates that your device is unable to connect to the organization's activation server. This typically occurs in environments where Key Management Services (KMS) is used for activation. Here are steps you can take:

    1. Check Network Connection: Ensure that your device is connected to the organization's network. If you're not on the network, you may need to connect to it to activate Windows.
    2. Contact Support: If you're still having issues, reach out to your organization's IT support for assistance, as they may need to help with the activation process.

Regarding the downgrade from Windows 11 Pro to Home, you will need a valid product key for Windows 11 Home to complete this process. If you have the Microsoft Product Key ID#, it may not be sufficient for activation, as you typically need the full product key to downgrade or activate the OS. If you cannot find your original product key, you might consider the following options:

    • Check Documentation: Look for any documentation that came with your notebook or any emails from when you purchased Windows.
    • Contact Microsoft Support: They may be able to assist you in retrieving your product key based on your Microsoft account or purchase history.

If you have a valid product key for Windows 11 Home, you can change the product key by going to Settings > Update & Security > Activation, and then selecting Change product key.
