Issue receiving Riot Games verification codes on Outlook account

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with my Outlook.com email account. I am able to receive normal messages from Riot Games, including support ticket responses, but I am not receiving their verification/authentication codes.

The emails that are not arriving come from the following sender: ******@mail.accounts.riotgames.com

Important details:

I have already confirmed the sender is not blocked.

I added the domain and address to my Safe Senders list.

There are no active rules moving or deleting the messages.

I checked Focused/Other folders, Junk Email, Deleted Items, and Recover Deleted Items.

The same verification emails arrive successfully on my Gmail account, so Riot Games is sending them.

This seems to indicate that Outlook/Hotmail is filtering or blocking emails from this specific subdomain at the server level.

Could you please investigate and unblock the sender or whitelist mail from: mail.accounts.riotgames.com

Thank you in advance for your support.

Best regards,
Filipe Rodrigues

Hi,

Thank you for sharing your question. I understand how inconvenient this can be, especially since you’ve confirmed that other Riot emails arrive normally and the codes work on Gmail.

This typically happens when Outlook’s filtering system blocks certain transactional emails at the server level, even if the sender is on your Safe Senders list. Microsoft recommends checking for any quarantine or filtering policies and ensuring the domain is fully trusted. You can try these steps

Sign in to Outlook.com, go to Settings → Mail → Junk email, and confirm that mail.accounts.riotgames.com is added under Safe Senders and Domains. If it’s already there, clear any custom rules and verify that your account isn’t configured with additional filtering through connected services. If the issue persists, you may need to contact Microsoft support to request an unblock or whitelist for this domain, as server-side filtering cannot be changed by the user.

I hope this helps.

Best Regards,

Noel
