If you only have SQL Server Management Studio server on your computer, you will need to find an SQL Server instance to connect to.

If you are in a corporate environment, you will have to ask your IT people or manager which instance to use.

If you have installed SSMS on your private laptop, this not taking you very far. You also need to install SQL Server. You can find it here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/sql-server-2025-download
