I passed my AZ-104 over a year ago. My renewal was due in November, however, I missed the renewal deadline due to a torn retina and subsequent surgery. I am hoping you will honor your policy that I found and extend the grace period so I can take the assessment and stay certified. Thank you

"🩺 Medical Exception Note

Microsoft has granted exceptions before for:

surgeries

medical treatments

hospitalizations

disabilities or temporary impairments

They will not guarantee it, but your case absolutely qualifies to be considered."

Microsoft do not have a medical exception policy, in fact one of the reasons that there is a long renewal period (180 days) is to allow for issues that could prevent renewal

We recommend taking the renewal assessment well before expiration to allow time for any unforeseen events, such as medical emergencies, technical issues, or multiple retakes.

Unfortunately, Microsoft does not allow for renewal after the certification has expired, and there are no exceptions to this policy mentioned in the provided context. You can only renew your certification within the six months prior to its expiration. If your certification has already expired, you will need to pass the required exam(s) again to earn the certification anew.
