You can get Office Home 2024. It includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and it is still cheaper compared to purchasing stand-alone Word. Office Home 2024 is a one-time purchase license and note that it is for one user and one computer (no mobile apps, no extra OneDrive storage). See https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/p/office-home-2024/cfq7ttc0pqvj .

Thank you, but now it will have to wait, I need word for resumes. Finances are tight as it is, I need to get a few things taken care of before, I can spend that.

I was hoping to use the Word program in my outlook email but it does not load.

Since your needs of Office are limited, you can use the free online version of Word. You can access it via a free Microsoft account, for example in OneDrive online at https://onedrive.live.com.

If you only need Microsoft Word and do not want a Microsoft 365 subscription, you can purchase a standalone version of Microsoft Word. However, keep in mind that Microsoft has been moving towards subscription-based services, so availability may vary. You can also consider using Word for the web for free, which provides basic functionality without needing a subscription. Additionally, open-source alternatives like LibreOffice can be used for word processing and are compatible with Office formats.
