Most likely this is a phishing scam.

In that Email there should be a link or button you are meant to click, do not click it, hover your mouse over that link, what is the URL that link redirects to?

Receiving an email that claims you need to update your email or risk losing synchronization can often be a sign of a phishing scam. Legitimate emails from Microsoft support will typically come from specific domains such as microsoft.com, microsoftsupport.com, or mail.support.microsoft.com. If the email you received is from a different domain, it is likely not genuine.

To verify the authenticity of the email:

  1. Check the sender's email address to ensure it matches one of the legitimate domains mentioned above.
  2. Avoid clicking any links or providing personal information until you are sure the email is legitimate.
  3. If you suspect it is a phishing attempt, you can report it to Microsoft and follow their guidelines for protecting yourself from phishing.

Always exercise caution when dealing with unexpected emails that request personal information or prompt you to take immediate action.
